Messages of Condolence
Marianne McCarthy Olean, NY
Dears, Words cannot express how much I loved Jean and how I will miss her! What a lady and how she loved her children and grandchildren, her family. Her friends were so important to me and she gave me the wonderful honor of treating me like a daughter. She was my sounding board, my advisor, my dear, dear friend. I loved being her scribe, when I would type articles for the OTH or Cuba Patriot for her.

Karen Rettig Scott Prattsburgh, New York I can't imagine a woman more loved than Jean. We spent lots of time together at the library on a Saturday afternoon after she was finished with her shift. She was a dear friend and one I thought of most often. Her smile was infectious and I will miss her greatly. She said to me once that when someone dies, you have a special representative on the other side. No one could be more special than Jean! Can't wait to laugh with you again.

Jim Keough Cuba, New York I will miss my buddy, Jean. I did some work for her in the past and when people would call she say, "I can't talk right now, I have a man upstairs"! Loved her.

marabel mucci clearfield, Pa so sorry to get the news about Jean..She was so proud of her Irish background and family....over the years we have always exchanged very special cards and notes on St Patrick's Day. She told me last year she still had the ones I sent her from Shamrock Texas with the special postmark. I am sure St. Patrick was there to welcome her to heaven. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Aunt Jean and I shared a closer relationship during these past few years, with phone calls when my dad was dying and especially since Craig and I visited all you wonderful Peace family. What a great time I had meeting all of you! When Craig and I arrived, Aunt Jean and I started to talk about books and realized we had the same passion for reading. We also discovered we were reading the same book at that time! While soaking in my visit with her, I commented on her collection of "Currier and Ive's" dishes, only I made a slip of the tongue and said "BURL and Ive's." We laughed about that, and until her death, sent each other "Currier and Ive's" cards and memento's. We were all so blessed to have Aunt Jean in our lives. She touched so many with her kindness and she was very loved. She will be in my heart, always.

I was a nursing classmate of Jean and
remained her friend for 59 years! I will
always remember with fondness the many
"Slumber Parties" held at her comfortable
home. My deepest and sincere
condolences to her children and
grandchildren.

So sorry to hear about Jean - always thought the world of her. She was always a bright spot and I enjoyed visiting with her. Also had the pleasure of her nursing expertise many years ago with my mom. She will be missed by many.
